Gene Logan has more than 27 years of public accounting experience, which includes more than 24 years in tax services for a large regional certified public accounting firm based in Western Pennsylvania. He has significant experience with closely-held companies in various industries.  His client base includes businesses in the manufacturing, energy, construction and investment related industries.  Gene also has extensive experience with nonprofit industry.  Providing business, tax and consulting services to more than 150 non-for-profit clients.  He has worked with religious organizations, arts and cultural organizations, civic organizations, business and professional associations and private foundations.  Areas of expertise include tax exempt status, public charity status vs private foundation, planning associated with for profit ventures, compensation and private inurement issues, UBTI Planning, charitable trusts and estate planning.

Piot_SarahSarah Piot is a tax manager providing tax compliance and various consulting services. Sarah has been with Schneider Downs since 2002 and has primarily focused her career on tax-exempt organizations. She has worked on numerous engagements preparing Form 990, reviewing activities for potential unrelated business income reporting, assessing foreign information reporting requirements and reviewing filings for multiple state solicitation registrations. Sarah is responsible for the management, coordination and delivery of tax-related services. Sarah is a member of the firm’s Not-for-Profit Services Industry Group and a member of the firm’s Tax Effectiveness and Efficiency Committee.
