The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana is in search of a
Full-time Director of Development for the Shared Services Team.
The Director of Development will be responsible for developing and implementing the development strategy for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Reporting to the President and CEO, the Director of Development‘s primary areas of responsibility include supporting all regions with formal development programs, unified plans, training and mentoring. Support of the CEO’s development projects is also a must.
Must possess excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to project a warm and compassionate style to convey the power of our mission. This position is based in Columbus, Ohio but leads and coordinates overall development and planning across six local offices throughout the tri-state region. Individual must be a “hands on” developer of programs versus an executor.
Interested candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of direct sales or business development experience in a service industry or with a nonprofit or an equivalent of work experience; Excellent public relations and/or writing skills and strong verbal skills; be organized, detail oriented, and possess the ability to handle multiple projects under deadlines; Emphasis on corporate sponsorships or corporate sales is a plus. Experience in developing and managing programs is preferred. Position requires travel throughout the chapter and flexible hours.
